hi!

i want to remove the search input located in the homepage of my dotnetnuke... is that possible? if it is how could i do this?

To remove the Search, all you have to do is edit your skin. Within your skin.htm file you will see a [SEARCH] token, all you have to do is remove the token.

As an example, if you wish to do this to a live site that is using the DNN-Blue Horizontal fixed width skin.

Go to the installation files of your DNN portal using FTP
Open the Portals / _default / Skins / DNN-Blue folder
Make a backup copy of the Horizontal Menu - Fixed Width.ascx file
download this file to your computer
Open it in an editor, you can use Notepad if you don't have an editor

Remove these lines:
< %@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="SEARCH" Src="~/Admin/Skins/Search.ascx" % >

and

<dnn:SEARCH runat="server" id="dnnSEARCH" />

save the file and upload it back to your server.
